Four Goals to Keep in 2016

I’m looking forward to these Four Goals to Keep in 2016!

Setting and accomplishing goals has become a passion of mine.

Goals give me the structure and clear direction I need to stay on track.

Setting goals also helps me to refocus and evaluate what’s working for me and what isn’t.

On the back of a pretty Anthropologie catalog, after a discussion on life, relationships, and layout design, my friend, Julia penned the following goals of mine:

#1. Niche.

#2. Consistency. Do it regardless of “feeling like it.”

#3. Step outside of the box. Explore. Meet bloggers.

#4. Collaborate. What does this mean?

4 Key Ways You Can Set Effective Mini Goals

Four Goals to keep in 2016

I sat down and took the time to explore these four goals. Here’s how I defined my four goals and added a key WORD for 2016:

  • Niche – I love Do It Yourself projects. While there may be a smattering of other lifestyle subject that pop up on my blog from time to time, I really want to focus on DIY projects this year. To be specific DIY projects that other people can do too!
  • Consistency – For the past year I’ve felt successful if I’ve blogged at all. It’s been random and when I’ve gotten to it, but I have been doing it. This year my goals is to work my way up to blogging three times a week, posting on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
  • Step outside the box – One thing I love about blogging is that there is a huge community of bloggers out there. I want to meet and make some blogger friends this year. I’ve already joined several facebook blogger groups. I’d also like to attend a blog conference.
  • Collaborate – I didn’t have a clue what this one would or could look like, but I knew I wanted to collaborate with other bloggers. We’ll call this an on going goal I’d like to maintain because this is my second blog collaboration since voicing this goal!

My WORD for 2016 – INTENTIONAL
I keep coming back to this word again and again. Intentional – purposeful, meaningful, with deep reason and intent, care, and thoughtfulness. I want to be very intentional in all areas of my life from growing in Christian community and my faith, to pursuing specific friendships and being creative. I want all the moments of my life to count!

Julia has some great goals to explore and continue to develop her photography skills. It was fun to be a part of that journey with her and have a mini photo session with her back in August. She takes such lovely photos, doesn’t she!? Be sure to visit Julia’s blog Hello, Lovely and read her goals!
