DIY Upcycled Side Table
31 Days of DIY Projects. Project Eleven: DIY Upcycled Side Table.
I have had a couple of bar stools hanging out in my home for over a year now. I’ve been wanting to do something with them for awhile. It’s unbelievably easy to make these two gorgeous DIY Upcycled Side Tables from a couple of old bar stools and two panes of glass.
Last year when I moved I donated my coffee table to Goodwill because it didn’t fit in my new place. I packed the glass separately and found it in a box later. Oops! Of course I saved it for a future project. So I decided to take my bar stools, use the glass and turn them into end tables!
Materials Needed: Bar stool, Record Case, Pane of Tabletop Glass and a screwdriver.
Step One: Remove the cushion from the top of the stool.
Step Two: Use your record case between the stool and pane of glass.
Originally I was going to spray paint the bottom side of the glass. I had a bunch of record covers left over from my Incredibly Easy Vinyl Record Bowls project. So instead of spray painting I tried the record cover as a buffer between the stool and the glass.
The glass is heavy enough that I decided not to use anything to permanently secure it. Not gluing it down also allows me to change the record cover underneath whenever I want to.
Happy DIYing your own DIY Upcycled Side Table!
