Tips to Create An Easy Party Spread
I love throwing parties, get together’s, gatherings and bonfires! Hosting in my home and making my guests feel welcome makes me very happy. Does it make you happy? I look forward to the conversations, lots of laughter and good food. To stay stress free I try to keep things simple. Here’s a few fun, quick tips to create an easy party spread for your food table.
Tips to Create An Easy Party Spread:
Start with a neutral tablecloth.
This will serve as your table background. Going pattern free in this instance keeps your table from looking too busy and allows everything you place on it to blend together. I like to theme my parties. It can be as simple as choosing a color or complimenting a season or Holiday. Pick up some fun napkins! It’s a party! Splurge a little and ditch the white napkins for something a little more adventurous.
Layer up and create levels.
Creating levels is my favorite part of setting the party table. I started with a large tray and a large platter on my first level. Placing new dishes on top to build layers up as I went. I used a bowl on top of the platter to separate my different crackers. I placed my cheese board on the tv tray and use a cake plate for another level for my cheesecake bites.
Add Flowers and candles.
Always flowers, right?! I love flowers in my home and think they add the perfect finishing touch to any event, get together and party. Spread your flowers out in different shaped and sized vases, varying the bouquets in height for variety. Add a few tea lights to the table and candles around the room for ambiance. You can also add string lights in addition to or as an alternative to tealights.
Ask for and receive help.
If someone else is really good at something, ask them to contribute it to your party. I asked a friend to make her beautiful cupcakes for the party! She is the icing queen. I mean seriously! Most guest will also offer to bring something and I never say no! Make a list of things guest can bring so you are ready for when they ask.
Serve a meat and cheese plate.
A serving tray or even cutting board with meat and cheese instantly adds easy elegance to your table. You can never go wrong with making a meat and cheese plate. Include sliced apples, a bar of dark chocolate, and olives or cornichon pickles on the side. Add tasty crackers and some hummus and you’re good to go!
Make it sweet.
Don’t forget a little sugar. Bite size bits, cookies, brownies, cupcakes you name it. Add a sweet treat and your table is complete.
Having people in my home is such a joy. Hosting is one of my love languages. It’s so much fun to get the house ready and all set up for guests. I love thinking of little touches that will welcome and wow. Then I get to simply enjoy the time with them!
Do you like setting up for parties? What’s your favorite thing to do?
