DIY Gold Spray Painted Mugs

31 Days of DIY Projects. Day Two: Gold Spray Painted Mugs.

Anyone else collect mugs? I have a pretty good collection of mugs I love. Mugs are definitely my favorite piece of dishware. I think they are the perfect gift for anyone at anytime. Who doesn’t like getting a cool new mug? Make this project for yourself or as a gift. Either way it’s sure to fit right in with any mug collection.

Happy Saturday! There’s nothing I love more than sleeping in and savoring a cup of coffee or two on a Saturday morning. And what’s more fun than drinking out of a DIYed mug?! Plus I need matching mugs to go with my treat stand. I used the same can of gold spray paint on these mugs as on my plates for my, Day One, Treat Stand project.

Materials you’ll need: Mugs, painters tape, spray paint, newspaper.

Step One. Tape off your mugs. Since these mugs are slightly square I taped in a criss-cross pattern and went for a geometric design with triangles.

Step Two: Lay down newspaper and spray desired areas with paint.

Hand wash and enjoy.

I’m off in Oceanside this weekend catching up with good friends and enjoying that cup of coffee together. Hope your Saturday is off to a great start. Happy DIYing!
