DIY Glass Bottle Chandelier
31 Days of DIY Projects. Project Nine: DIY Glass Bottle Chandelier.
I’ve been saving these green glass bottles for a while now. I have been waiting for just the right project to do with them. I knew I wanted to do something with string lights. The light comes through the green glass beautifully. I took an old wire frame and hung the bottles from it with lights.
Materials: 12 green glass bottles, a photo frame, string lights, wire, pliers and sturdy string or twine.
Step One: Remove labels from bottles. Soak the bottles in hot water to soften the glue.
Step Two: Cut pieces of wire 6-8 inches long.
Step Three: Use the wire to create hooks around the top of the bottle. Loop wire and twist around the bottle neck, using your pliers.
Step Four: Hang your frame, securing firmly with your twine.
Step Five: Loop bottles onto frame with wire. I used a decorative frame that I could easily loop the wire onto.
Step Six: Wrap your stringed lights around the frame and then fill the inside of each bottle with lights.
