A New Direction: Happily Dwell
Hey I’m Naomi! Celebrator of creativity, sea glass collector and spray paint enthusiast. When I’m not propagating succulents or drinking copious amounts of coffee you can find me stuck in a book, wandering a sandy shore or working on a blog post. Happily dwell has been on my heart as a brand and blog for over a year.
I’ve been blogging on and off for about ten years. I love sharing my creative ideas, diy projects, motivational and goal setting passions with you. Whether you’ve been following this journey with me for a while or are new around here I value your readership and participation!
A New Direction: Happily Dwell
Finally the year long dream has been realized and Happily Dwell has been launched. I loved my time blogging under My Fair Olinda. If you’ve been following along over there I hope you’ll love the new look and name. I’ve felt that it was time to branch out in a new direction. Happily Dwell encompasses in so many ways how the pursuit of joy filled living has become a mission and personal motto for me.
Are you ready to dive into this new space with me?
Two years ago I stopped making resolutions and I started making goals. A big goal for 2017 was to stop adding more, doing more, being more. Instead I wanted to refocus on the things that matter the most. As I entered 2018 this did not change. I feel even more passionate now about focused joyful living.
I’ve been dreaming for some time now of this new brand: Happily Dwell.
I’ve spent the last year desiring to focus on living a joy filled life. But, that desire isn’t just for myself. I want to inspire others around me to pursue joy filled living too.
We know that our source of joy is the Lord! He fills us and makes our lives abundant! I want to create a unique brand centered around the depth of dwelling. We dwell in so many ways. Just the word itself comes with so much richness. Doesn’t the word dwell just cause you to pause as it sinks in. There is so much abiding for us.
There is so much joy to be had, but so many things that distract us from it. I want to create a place where other women can also come and be encouraged, inspired and filled up.
The Happily Dwell Team
I’m also very excited because I’ve expanded the team. My dear friend Megan will be joining me here at Happily Dwell as a co-blogger. Megan is fun, adventurous, curious and full of creativity. She loves Disney, gardening and decorating. She has a passion for people, photography and traveling. She’ll be introducing herself on the blog next week and I’m so excited for you all to get to know her. You can read her recent contributor post, Five Favorite Ways to Unwind After a Long and Stressful Day.
We’ll be taking turns sharing posts on the blog. You can still expect home décor projects and ideas, crafts, productivity tips, and we are excited to branch into inspirational posts. Have a topic you want us to write about? Share in the comments below!
Joy Filled Living and Happily Dwell
When things are exciting and adventurous and going well it’s easy to have happiness. In the midst of transition, chaos, when life is tough, when you can’t catch a break, when a new problem arises just as your solving the last there is also joy. So I’ve looked for joy in the center of it all. In the small quiet moments, in the moments of exploration, in the moments where I’ve wanted to hide in bed all day… I’ve sought a passion to life a joy filled life. I want to empower and uplift others. I want to use my gifts to help others find their creativity and live out their passions! I want to see you embrace a joy filled life.
Not contained to any one year, but a mission to live out in my life. A core idea that I’m holding tight to: To empower and uplift others so that they may live full lives in pursuit of passionate creativity! I continue to choose to Pursue God first and foremost, pursue living out a life with the talents He’s blessed me with and to pursue others with selfless passion!
I’m focusing on this one word this year: Dwell. This word has been resonating with me over and over again. There is so much depth to it that I want to explore. It speaks to abiding, to fully being, to diving in and living beautifully where you are. I so deeply desire to Dwell. To abide in the Lord. To enter deeply into relationships. To create a sense of dwelling both in my home and in my heart that is full, content, peaceful, warm, welcoming and always joyful.
I hope you will dive in with Megan and I here at Happily Dwell. We would love to have you be part of the community!
xoxo Naomi
