My husband and I celebrated our first Valentine’s together while dating. Picking out or creating the first gift for our first Valentine’s seemed like a lot of pressure. How much is enough? How much is too much? But, I knew Nick’s favorite movie and once I decided to create a theme gift basket around it, creating his gift came together perfectly!

I must of googled a million ideas around How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days to get ideas. I included items like a deck of cards, mini motorcycle, faux fern and popcorn – all with little notes inspired by the movie.

Sometimes I think I have my husband all figured out and sometimes he completely takes me by surprise and I learn something new about him. Either way finding ways to say I love you can be a whole lot of fun!

15 Creative Ways to Say “I Love You” This Valentines

2. Give them a bouquet of heart balloons with a ticket attached for an air balloon ride that night.

3. Create a scavenger hunt guiding them to a romantic picnic date.

4. Make them a theme basket to their favorite movie complete with activities to match.

5. Create a fun handmade Valentine: Try one of these four sweet DIY Valentine’s Cards.

6. Surprise them with an appointment at a spa for a massage or facial. Or create an at home spa night. There’s nothing like a basket full of relaxing goodies for him or her. From epson salts to candles there’s plenty of ways to pamper your partner.

7. Go ultra old school and make them a mixtape – or in modern times a playlist – filled with songs that say how you feel about them.

8. Hide a bunch of love notes all over the place – taped inside cupboard doors or the medicine cabinet, in their sock drawer, on the shower head, in their wallet, on the dashboard of their car… Who knows how long it will take to find them all, you just might end up with Valentine’s week instead of Valentine’s Day.

9. Do their least favorite chore, task or errand for them.

10. Surprise them with a couples photo shoot. Then go out to dinner at your favorite restaurant.

11. Recreate your very first date.

12. Write them a love letter. Reminisce about how you fell in love and share how your love has grown for them.

13. Bake them their favorite sweet treat.

14. Give back. Find a place to serve together. Serve dinner at a food kitchen, host dinner for an elderly couple, or watch a friend’s kids so they can enjoy a night out.

15. Try something new. Take cooking, dancing, or painting lessons. Trying something new together can be a wonderful experience.
