DIY Jewelry Stand

31 Days of DIY Projects. Day One: DIY Jewelry Stand.

DIY Jewelry Stand

When it comes to making your own treat or cake stand the options are endless. Use plates (or even bowls) and candlestick holders you already have or pick them up at your favorite store, thrift shop or even the dollar store.

A tiered stand is perfect for serving all sorts of treats. They are perfect for when you don’t have a lot of table space. I also like using layers to create visual interest when setting up for a party.

Three plates from the dollar store – two medium and one large – were perfect for this project. For a variation you could use a smaller plate for the top or even a bowl. I have a lot of jewelry so this treat stand double functions perfectly for me as a jewelry display.
I started by spray painting some gold stripes onto my plates. I taped off plates for the width of stripe desired.

Materials you’ll need: 3 plates: 2 medium and 1 large, 2 candlestick holders, (and a small bowl if you want a base under your bottom plate), E-6000 glue, and newspaper.

How to make your DIY Jewelry Stand:

Step One. The Base: A small tealight holder or even a bowl works great as your base. It keeps your stand nice and stable. Glue it to the bottom of your Large bottom plate. (Be sure to follow the instructions for gluing with E-6000 on the packaging).

Step Two: Glue your candlestick holders in between your two medium plates and your middle medium plate and bottom large plate. Once everything is glued make sure your candlestick holders line up. The glue already has a good hold, but will allow you to adjust slightly if needed.

Step Three: Allow 48-72 hours for the glue to set.

I love how beautiful the end result is. Whatever you use it for, parties, holidays or special events a DIY treat stand is the perfect, inexpensive and easy to make piece to add to your food table or to display your jewelry on your dresser. Try this stacking stand project to create single cake stands and stack when needed. This way I have three individual stands or I can stack two or three depending on the event!

Happy DIYing!
