Five Last Minute Christmas DIY Gifts
1. Nail Polish Marbled Mugs.
I love this DIY Marbled Mugs with Nail Polish Project. A holiday weekend is perfect for DIYing! Especially if your best friend of 13 years is in town! We both love to craft {and save money} so we picked up mugs at the Dollar Tree, for our project, and even found cute ones with a gold stripe at the top. I’ve seen this idea floating around pinterest for a while so we decided it was time to give it a try! House of Hipsters has a great tutorial that we followed, but Karisa added her own fun twist! Can you say pinterest success? Read more.
2. Jewelry Stand
When it comes to making your own jewelry stand the options are endless. Use plates, bowls and candlesticks you already have or pick them up at your favorite store, thrift shop or even the dollar store. Three plates from the dollar store – two medium and one large – were perfect for this project. For a variation you could use a smaller plate for the top or even a bowl. I have a lot of jewelry so this stand functions perfectly for me as a jewelry display. Read more.
3. Painted Terracotta Pots
I’ve been growing my succulent garden thanks to cuttings from some friends. Succulents are about the only plant I seem able to keep alive so I’m a very happy girl right now. I picked up a bunch of terracotta pots from the Dollar Tree this week and some acrylic paint at Michaels. Can we say most affordable DIY ever?! Read more.
4. Wooden Beads Key Chain
I cannot believe how long these three little bottles of acrylic paint have lasted! Good thing I love these colors, especially together. I painted my terracotta pots with them, rocks from the dollar store, and even my tv tray! I was inspired by this keychain from Nicest Things for this awesome DIY. Read more.
5. Chalkboard Tea Storage Jar
I immediately fell in love with the idea of tea storage jars when I saw this DIY on the gorgeous blog Wit and Whistle (which unfortunately is no longer online). Thank you Amanda for the inspiration. The jars are in one word: adorable! They are also beyond easy to make. I put them together in a matter of minutes. Read more.
