A Year of Joy Filled Living

Every year I love to write a year end review for the blog. Do you do this? I put so much of my life into this space that it’s fun to look back and see everything that’s happened. This has been a place to share what inspires me, to bring others encouragement and to grow. I find that as I’m learning life lessons this blog has been a wonderful place to write about them. This has been a year of joy filled living!

March was a momentous month. I launched Happily Dwell this year! The idea was sparked over a year ago. A place to dive into all the wonderful aspects of dwelling, both in the home and in the heart. In March of this year that little spark came fully to life.

Joy Filled Living and Dwelling in the New Year

In 2016 as I recapped the year and began to look forward to 2017 I wrote a BIG Goal: To empower and uplift others so that they may live full lives in pursuit of passionate creativity! Happily Dwell is just one result of that goal. To be at the end of 2018 and see how that goal has come to fruition is beyond exciting. Megan graciously joined the team and it’s been a blast partnering with her. I couldn’t have dreamed up a better collaborator for the blog.

2018 has been a great year! As I look back I see what a full year it’s been. Launching a new blog site, having Megan join the team, going on a mission trip to Czech Republic and meeting my boyfriend Nick are just a few highlights in a pretty fantastic year.

Part of looking forward to a new year is recapping the past year. Here are a few of my favorite posts and moments of 2018!

A Year of Joy Filled Living

January:

I started the year with big goals and dreams! My focus was and still is joy filled living and dwelling. I stepped into this year with the word: dwell. I’ve sought to dwell, to abide, to be.  My friend Lindsey shared about REAL coffee. I shared a lesson in generosity and my best food photography tips.

February:

I celebrated Galentines with all my girls! I shared how I create an inviting atmosphere in my home and tips on getting refreshed on your weekends.

March:

I took the blog in a whole new direction by launching Happily Dwell! My friend Miriam made the most amazing cake for Easter for all of you (which, p.s. was one of the most read posts of the year!).

April:

Megan joined me on Happily Dwell as my co-blogger! I shared the art of slowing down to listen and how to make a lovely spring wreath.

May:

I shared how to spark and rediscover your creativity and that it’s okay to be a work in progress.

June:

I shared ten tips to creating unbelievable travel memories and 17 of my favorite apps to use.

July:

In July I went on a mission trip to Czech Republic. It was amazing and life changing and my favorite blog post I wrote all year. I also shared fun summer activities for the whole family and my best travel tips.

August:

In August I showed you how to create gorgeous show stopping flatlays, my favorite thing to do, and shared why I think we should challenge beauty standards.

September:

After years of dreaming of throwing the perfect beach picnic I finally did and it was perfect! I turned 35 and celebrated with my Grandma’s yummy cinnamon rolls recipe and a fun fall bucket list.

My friend Hannah guest posted in September and shared The Art of Nesting in Your Home.

Guest Post: The Art of Nesting in Your Home

October:

Megan and I launched a new Ten Things I Love series, I rounded up a colorful assortment of sweet and magical Halloween costumes and gave you all my tips on creating a fabulous cheese plate! I also shared 45 simple acts of kindness to bring joy during the holidays.

November:

I talked about how we can have thankfulness in all things and what a Merry Christmas means to me.

It’s a blessing and a joy to have this creative outlet. Every visitor and page view on the blog excites me. I’m beyond thankful for everyone who takes the time in their day to read it. Thanks for a great year!

xoxo Naomi
